Sore Tummy

I have to take Fitzy to the vet tonight. Lately he's been really irritable and when I pick him up he makes a little whine like it hurts him. I always support his back legs when I pick him up. I know these are vague symptoms but does anyone know what this could possibly be?

Well, it could be several things. The top on the list would be some built up gas,constipation, or a possible blockage. There's also a few other organ related things it could be. I don't want to try and guess and scare the bazeebers out of you, so just do your best to think of any other changes in litter box habits, eating habits, personality changes, etc. The vet will have an easier time diagnosing the problem. Please make sure and give us an update!!

Well, physically, the vet couldn't find anything wrong. I had told him about the whine when I pick him up and that on Saturday my boyfirend says he "freaked out" for no reason. So, I thought the two might be related--He's also been biting more and harder lately. The vet said it sounds like something is bothering him psychologically and put him on prozac for cats (for a week) to see if that chills him out. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for your response, if this doesn't work, maybe it is something like you said.
