Yes, I was gone. I had computer troubles and I was offline for a while. So here's what's been going on.

On Monday May 1, I was finishing my last paper for the semester when the hard drive on my computer suddenly died. So I actually had to hand in a copy of my paper with changes written by hand because I wasn't able to print the final copy. The prof was very understanding (and still gave me an A+ on the paper
) but it was kind of embarassing.

Then the next day, since I was finally on vacation, I decided to clean up my apartment (it was a mess!) and do my laundry. Right near the end of the last load of laundry, my washing machine broke.

After that, I went out of town for a few days to visit some friends, which was really nice. I really needed to get away.

Now I'm back in town. I bought a new hard drive and finally managed to get things running (more or less) and I'm back online.
I also started my summer class - Introduction to Spanish. Just over a week ago, I couldn't speak any Spanish at all and now I can form simple sentences. I'm pretty proud of myself. I still need some practice though.

On Tuesday May 9, my niece was born! Her name is Laurence and she was 8lb 1oz. I saw her this weekend and I couldn't believe how small she was (I'd never seen a newborn baby before). So cute.

The cats are doing fine. Joshua is still stressed out because I was gone for a few days last week but he should be fine. He says MEEEOOOOWWW to everyone. (it's easy to tell when he's stressed, he'll meow constantly)

So that's it.

Welcome back, Marie! Wow, what a lot of ups and downs! I speak spanish, too. I can say, "No habla espanol!" (And that is just about all I can say!)

Congrats on the A+, and the new niece. Laurence...are they going to call her Laurie? (That is my sisters name, short for Laura!)

I'm not sure if they'll shorten her name. So far I only heard them call her Laurence.

\tWelcome back!!

How did it go with that guy??
darn. I was hoping no one would remember that so I wouldn't have to answer

Actually, I worked up the courage to call him on an evening when I knew he had an exam (that way I could just leave a well-scripted message on his answering machine) but when I called, a girl answered the phone and I mumbled something about having the wrong number and hung up.

So either that was the wrong number, he has a roommate or (more likely) he has a girlfriend.

So I'm out of luck (I think). Still, I'd prefer to know for sure and at least stay friend with him, but I'm not calling again. With some luck, I might run into him during the summer.

\tPlease can we have some pictures?
sure. just give me some time to upload them.

Welcome back Marie!
Is nice to see you again!!!
Gracias.
