Hi Im new here, I joined beacuse of one of the two female kittens I got yesterday.
One of them vomits and Im trying to figure out why. They are both happy and play together and with us, but they are still getting used to us.They show no signs of sickness. But one will start mewing and then hacking and vomits. Shes done it three times since I got her yesterday. Once she vomited up very little food, the other times it was just spittal.
Is it possible for a new kitten to be so nervous in a new home that she vomits? I think that this is the cause. She shows no signs of anything wrong.
she is 6 weeks old. Does she just have a nervous stomache? I keep a close eye on her so that I know if she does vomit` and so I can clean it up.
Can anyone help me Im tottally confused!

The reason I ask is that may be it is a food allergy. also, Make sure she isnt getting into anything she shouldnt be getting into. If she keeps vomiting I think it may be worth a trip to the vet.

Shes on purina kitten chow and water, I dont think there is anything she can get into. We have three ferrets so our home has been furry proofed.

Is there any possibility that she got into some string, dental floss, something that she ate? It really sounds like that, and I hate to jump the gun, but that could be bad. Is she going potty? If not, she could have a blockage in her intestines. I think I would consider going to the vet, or at least call.

I'm not sure if she has seen a vet yet...but now would be the time for the 2 kittens to receive their first set of shots so I would set up an appt and mention her vomiting. Perhaps she had something that didn't agree with her.

As far as food goes...I am not a big fan of Purina Kitten food....I would highly recommend switching them over the Purina One which has better ingredients.

Also, 6 weeks is very young to be placed...typically kittens shoud stay with their mom until they are at least 10-12 weeks of age.

Well shes been with me for 2/12 days now. she hasn't thrown up toady yet

And she is still eating.
I get payed in the next few days and she will see the vet the day that I do get paid.
My friend said she might have a sinus infection ??? Has anyone heard about something like that?
Also, can worms cause vomiting? There are no worms visible in her stool, but i know there are micro kinds.

Thank you all for your concern.

Kittens that are born outdoors usually have worms...so I would plan to pay to have her dewormed. She will also need her first Distemper shot. I would also prepare to keep her strictly indoors only until she can be spayed.

I figured she had worms and her sister too, but as soon as I get my money shes going straight to the vet down the road. And while we do already plan to have them spayed we have agreed to keep them strictly indoors forever.
I cant wait to get them all better. :3
