Hello all, my name is Evelynne and I'm 27. I just got my first apartment and after so many years without animals (thanks to my Aunt's allergies and intolerance of pets) I now have a cat of my very own.
Her name is Bellina and she is a pretty little petite DSH about 1 1/2 yrs., very nice markings. (I'll get a photo soon.) I adopted her from NSAL and though it was a little rough in the beginning (she had to be treated for bad constipation) she is now doing fine and is a very sweet, loving cat. I have had cats as a child in my parent's house and always loved them, so it was hard living without one for so long when I moved to my Aunt's house.
Bellina is a typical cat, though loving she doesn't always come when you call her and sometimes seems moody and doesn't want to be petted. She is a dry kibble lover but after several wasted cans of wet food she started eating it. (Sheba did the trick.)
Bellina is named obviously because I think she's quite beautiful, even the vet said she seems to have a little "exotic" in her, whatever that means.

Hope to make some great friends with fellow cat lovers here.

Welcome to the site Evelynne and Bellina
We are so glad to have you here with us! I can imagine how hard it must have been to wait to get a kitty. Congrats though on your new place and you did the right thing by waiting until you had a place of your very own before bringing Bellina home
Reading your description of Bellina reminded me of a little quote I read in someone signature here on the site. "Dogs come when they are called but cats take a message and get back to you"

If you need any help finding your way around the forums I would be more than happy to help. All you have to do is click on my user name and send me a private message

I can't wait to see a picture of Miss Bellina also

in a pile of open toed shoes!
Hi! So great to meet you! I too had pets all growing up, then went without them for years, and now I have LuckyGirl! Does the name Bellina mean anything?! It's kinda like Bella which means beautiful in Italian... so I'm guessing little Beauty? Just a guess... Anyway, where abouts from Jersey are you from? I live & work in Philly, so we're not too far away!!!

Hi! I love your webpages about LuckyGirl. That IS a lucky cat! Congrats to you.

Bellina means "Beautiful", Bella is a short form of it and so is "Belle". All the same.
Of course I'm not an expert....but I'm pretty sure of that. Bellina is the French version, however. (I checked on a names website.)
I am currently in Essex county which I believe is the Northern area of New Jersey. Yeah Philly is fairly close!

Bellina sounds like a beautiful cat and I would love to see a picture. I am glad she is not constipated anymore and being a sweet little girl. I can't believe you went so long without a cat, I would start having withdrawls!
I just love my kitties and can't imagine life without them.

Have fun exploring the forums!

Your cat Jafar is very similar to Bellina. Actually, his (?) resemblance is striking, really it is.
So you have a beautiful cat too! (Well all of them are very nice!)

I will do what everyone else does and post a pic in the siggy. I have a really nice camera it's just that I need to get internet access up at home and then I can get it done.
