Little Dana has been on the move most of the night...can't seem to get a picture of her. Will try again tomorrow. She is such a cutie though.

Not the greatest shots but here is Dana:

Dana with my Chucky

Dana before she started to inflate with gas

I feel so bad for this little girl. I have a constant flow of fosters here and everytime a potential adopter comes over to see the kittens...little Dana seems to be passed by. Last night, the mgr. from Humane Society came over to check on all the fosters and believes that Dana has a few motor-skill problems. She walks sort-of pigeon-toed and hops like a bunny rather than use all 4 little legs to run
Who knows...maybe I'll keep her myself
Really have formed quite the bond with her

I, too, think Dana is beautiful!!

Don't get me wrong...adopters think she is very cute BUT then they hear she has to eat the $1.00+ can kitten food and her food allergies may or may not be permanent...well...they choose another kitten

The ingredients in her "special" food crack me up!! Tonight, little Dana is having "California Roll"...lobster, crab, shrimp, granny apples, blueberries, cranberries, carrots, green peas....yummy!!

Little Dana is a gourmet kitty.

I hope that you are able to adopt her.
Special kitties need special love.

Please keep sharing her pictures.

Good news...Dana is looking really good this morning!! Her stool is looking great as far as stool goes
and she seems to moving around better...even jumped a small gate that blocks the "nursery" room.

Her picture is listed on petfinder but we are in the midst of "kitten season" and there are soooo many!! I alone have seven fosters here and from my understanding, there are 33 kittens in foster care now!!

Will snap some new pics. of her today and will proudly post. I love her little "cow cat" markings and her huge eyes.

Dana's story goes like this:

Dana was found wandering alone in the rain...a Humane Society member happen to find her & brought her in. She was very sick at approximately 3 weeks of age. She was in foster care for 1-week with a group of 8 other little ones and at that point, she was strictly a bottle-feed baby.

I took her in because there were too many little ones (8) at this other foster home and started weaning her at 4 weeks. She had every problem under the sun. At first, she suffered from constipation which turned into runny smelly stool. She aslo had severe mite problems & had a daily wash applied to her ears...on Albon twice a day & Amoxy once a day.

As she started eating wet & dry kiten food, little Dana began to inflate and pooped 8 to 10 times per day...smelly & loose. Not fun!! About 2 weeks ago, I brought her into our vet. who took one look at her and tested for FIP...her tummy was so bloated that we thought it was fluid build-up. Thank God her bloated belly was filled with gas...not fluid.

Bottom-line...Dana has food allergies which caused the smelly, loose stool & was taken home from the vet. with top-of-the-line wet & dry food....duck, peas, carrots, etc. She is now starting to deflate but has motor-skill issues. At 7-weeks, she has a very hard time jumping & moving about.

Her mite problem is gone & she is not on any medication now

The pros & cons of keeping Dana:

The cons first: I have a resident crew of 7, care for a feral colony of another 7, I am a very active member of my local Humane Society which includes fostering throughout the entire kitten season, transporting cats/kittens to & from local vet., cleaning, cleaning & more cleaning at the adoption center and I own/operate my own business. One more con: I have another foster baby here named Miracle, who I have been fostering since he was 2-days old. He is the same age as Dana (approx. 7-weeks) and he has basically adopted us!!

The pros: I love Dana & Dana loves me
I really believe I have a true understanding of her needs...she has that certain look in her eyes when she cries & I just seem to know what she wants/needs at the time. I firmly believe that if Dana has "special needs" for her entire life, I will be able to care for her & give her special TLC.

BUT...9 cats? Yikes!! Trust me, there is a part of me that keeps saying at the 7-tail point...it is just another tail or two popping around

Unless "Mother Theresa" comes to adopt Dana...she ain't going anywhere so fast!!
