Hi! The Goldie saga continues......

Little Petie Peepers and Iris and Gracie have all gone to their new homes this week. I miss the little hellions! Arthur and G-man still remain here for now. They will be going to their new homes the middle of June! Sure is hard to say good-bye. But! 4 of the babes will be local, so auntie can visit!
Mom is still nursing the boys - and I am getting her fixed and hopefully she will integrate into my blended family! What a good momma she has been........

Debra, Time goes too quickly when you have a litter to play with. Of course you're glad to see them settled in their own homes. I'm glad Goldie has settled in. Those little sissy boys! I have seen kittens try to nurse for so long that mommy had to swat them and send them sliding across the tile floor. That didn't always discourage them either! Poor mommy isn't that big herself.

Although she is a good mom, Goldie is probably really tired of having to deal with all those kittens. By spaying her, you increase her quality of life ten-fold. Ferals are hard kitties to work with at times, but you have done wonders with her and her brood. Congrats! If I could, I would award you the Hissy Grab Merit of Honor!

Hmmm? The Hissy Grab Award....now we could do something with that!
Goldie is out of sorts today - hissing and trying to bite and swat when I changed her litter! Little snot! She is getting better though - we still have petting fests and head scratches. I have to admit that I love her! I will take her as she is willing.

She is just letting you know that she misses her family. Her demeanor will change when you get her spayed as well. But she is undoubtedly wondering why her litter is dwindling.

I haven't been able to work with McKenzie as much as i would under normal circumstances. Keeping her kittens as well as her will help her to absorb into our blended family.

Take a look at this:

The "babies" were about four months old at the time. The one in the middle, who now weighs 21 pounds, weighed about 8 pounds at the time, while mom weighed 10! She had even already been spayed by the time this was taken. For that matter, the big bruiser in the middle had already been neutered! There was no swatting and sliding going on while Peaches was around! She encouraged them!

Those big COWS!! Oh, that's funny, but it looks very familiar! Debra, the guys always think the bigger the better! My son is always telling me how much bigger his cat is than mine. I think it's mostly genetic. My Siamese are supposed to be sleek! I've had some big cats, but 21 lbs. is extremely big.
