If you must give her tuna, please make sure it is the tuna packed in the little pouches, not canned and just give her a little tiny treat of it. Human tuna is processed with a LOT of salt and that really isn't good for her as she is nursing.

Won't hurt, just don't make tuna a habit. Its ok for a quick fix, but get her some good quality kitten food to eat if she's nursing.

What would be better is to boil up some chicken and shred it and give it to her. I make sure we always have chicken on hand for emergency feedings. I don't feed my cats fish - they may get a nibble or two of broiled fish we are eating.

What I have done is mix tuna with water and Royal Canin babykitten food and the kittens love this.

I also do the mix with chicken, canned kitten food or KMR.

Don't you just love the Royal Canin Baby cat? It's so tiny & is easy to mix with everything. I really see a huge difference in my kitten's eyes & coat compared to my friend's that feeds hers a different food. I love it...

Royal canin babycat is the best! The baby kittens have stage 1 babycat and the kitten's mum who is still nursing has stage 2. Gizmo (9 year old) is on the diet Royal Canin after too many years of endulgence and for once, its a diet food which he loves unlike the bland types we've tried in the past.

With a fair few kittens, I find that the baby cat is a great way of making the cat food go a long way. 1 bag (costing £2.49...about $5) lasts me one week with 5 kittens...when I mix it with other meat or fish. So for you normal people with just one or two kittens instead of 5, it will last a fair while

Cookandcompany - I will be getting Royal Canin Persian for Olivia when she gets a bit older - thanks for that tip!

I really recommend Royal Canin babycat...the kittens coats and eyes look good on it.
