Thank you! I've had a very enjoyable, i.e., lazy birthday. Hubby had a whole vase of flowers waiting on the kitchen table for me this morning (I got my present, a teak chair for the back balcony, a few days ago), I got lots of cuddles and licks from Jamie before I even got up (do you think he knew it was my birthday?), several ecards/emails from friends, and two extra-special gifts: a long, long-distance phone call from my sister, and my father-in-law's acceptance of the importance I attach to pets (he's got a dog and cat phobia). The latter had an admission to make: After years and years of his complaining about the "dirt", inconvenience, and expense caused by pets, he actually has come to enjoy the attention they pay him when he visits, and no longer gets the heebie-jeebies when they lick him or sit on his head (one of Jamie's favorite tricks).
