I can do July 9th or the 16th!

I am somewhat familar with parts of Lansing. I am not sure what type of resturant everyone would be interested in. There is a Red Robin, Applebees, Bennigans and a TGI Fridays.

Oh you so read my mind. I was going to ask what is there to do in Lansing? Are there any like museums or like the Fredrick Meyer Gardens in case they don't just want to eat?

It's been a few years since I've been to Lansing, so most of what i remember is hidden far back in memory!

I remember a wedding I went to (When I was part of a quartet) that was off of Martin Luther King Blvd. It was along the Grand River and quite pretty there. I've seen ads that there is a boat that goes along the river with a show and dinner.

I can do either weekends (9th or the 16th) as well.

Thanks for the invite Silly Jilly!

Wow, lots of great ideas so far, when I get home from work I will have to check them out better. Anyone know any Widsor, Cananda members? I know it was mentioned but i haven't had a chance to look and see if I could find any. I'll have to go over to that Canadian thread from a week or so ago and read where they were all from!

Wow! Tons of fun in Lansing!

I like the winery idea

I haven't found any Windsor people yet. I was kind of hoping a few more would pop in to this thread seeing that they're right next store.

Oh that is too funny!!!

Was checking out the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau and on the site for the Kresge Art Museum they have the Cat Chow Exhibit. Not what you think it would be but humorous non the less.

I'm still looking though too!

Oh, about the picnic idea. That would be neat, though we'd have to be sure we could go inside if need be due to rain, and some people may be traveling far to make sure their food is still cold or hot. Some things to think about.

Well, I've looked through all the links and some of them look really neat. But I am going to leave it up to you guys! I also searched out candian members , and only found one Windsor member that has not been on for very long and only has 5 posts so so I doubt they would want to go (also hasn't been on in two months!) So.... I did post in the Canadian thread to ask if any may be interested in a Lansing, MI meet-up!

So let's try to finalize a little bit of this:

Does Lansing sound good to everyone?

(will finalize more after that!)

Lansing sounds good to me.

One thing we will need to find out before deciding what to do, is if anyone who is attending has physical limitations that would make a lot of walking or spending time out doors difficult. We want to be sure that we include everyone.

I would love to see the botanical gardens or the animal farms at MSU, any of the museums, the winery or the zoo ... bascially, I like everything

Oh, I'm also always up for horseback riding, but that may not be practical for everyone ...

Lansing is good for me too.
I don't have any physical limitations, so walking is fine for me (actually my butt needs it).

I haven't gone Horseback Riding since I was 15!! By this time (13 years later) I'd probably be a good laugh.

Thanks for looking on the Windsor people Jilly! Too bad, I thought maybe there would be more.

I have no limitations either.
I am up for anything, the horseback riding thing would not be a new thing for me as we have 5 horses, but it still would be fun.

Good point on the Physical limitations!!! I'm fat but I can walk and love to actually though by big belly and butt don't look like I do.

I was looking at the botanical gardens as well! Same here with basically anything. Though I will admit I'M SCARED OR HORSES Only because when I was really young a horse picked me up while I was holding it's reigns (it jumped up on it's two hind legs) and I let go and ran.
I can pet them but I have never been on one since! (OH yeah, the little girl who was on it probably never got on one again either!!!)

Hope I'm not a big disappointment!

Horses are not for everyone. They are big and can be intimidating! We used to have a horse that would charge you in the pasture. I would have to throw something at him if he was too close and then run for the barn. And I was FEEDING HIM!!

That's OK...like I said, I haven't been in YEARS so I'd probably be the one falling off.

I can relate though...whenever I bridled the one I was riding for my lessons, they would be in the smallest stalls 90% of the time. I've been stepped on (lovely horseshoe shaped bruise) and rammed into the side. My big fear was getting kicked. My grandpa had that happened to him. YUCK!
