Kitten eating sand from teh litterbox

Hi.my 4 month old kitten started recently to eat sand from the litterbox.I let her do it when i first saw her,but i can't be ok,so i was wondering how to stop it

It is not uncommon for kittens to do this (I have no idea why). But, it can be dangerous. The safest thing to do would be to replace the clay litter with Swheat Scoop (made from wheat) or The World's Best Litter (made from corn) or any of the wood or paper based litters. Once the kitten is a bit older it will be safe to go back to clay litter if you so desire.

Are sand and clay the same thing?

I wouldn't let her to that too.
I think the the clay can clump in the stomach and cause complications.
