Does anyone take their pets to petco/petsmart for shots? I heard it was $15 per shot there which would save me a ton on vet bills but wondering if they were "ok" to go to......... also do they give you a record to bring to your regular vet when they go for a normal check up so they know they have had their shots?

My town provides free rabbies vaccinations once a year - might want to check with your local municipality!!

Personally I would go around and ask at actual vet clinics to see if they do reduced cost vaccination clinics.

There are too many things that can go wrong even with 'simple' vaccinations. I feel safer when there is an actual vet on hand in case of emergency, not just techs.

thanks for all the replies. I haven't noticed any rabies clinics in my town, but I will call and double check. I may switch vets and hope I like the new one better. I like my vets but they are very expensive and dont' give discounts even for an office visit if you bring more than 1 in at a time. My old vets did this and were about 1/2 the price. but I had problems getting an appt when oen dog was hurt (cracked his nail way down) and one had an ear infection and they couldn't see me for 2 days! so I switched. may check others around me to see.
