It did NOT go well.

They looked at me like i was crazy, or god, or something, and just mewed and climbed on me. I didnt actually put my fingers in that mush, i used a spoon to dab some on their chins, they licked it off.

I remember once, having to give some medicine to one of our cats, and they told us to squeeze the gel onto the top of their paw and they would lick it off, no matter how foul tasing.

So i went off of that idea, i put it on their chins, not knowing if they would lick it off their paws, they didnt by the way, lick it off their paws. But they did lick it off their chins, so i know that each got a taste of the kitten food mixed with KMR, and taz... well she ate the whole bowl.

I guess ill try again tonight, and see how it goes...

LOL isn't it so much fun! One of my kittens took to it right away the first time but then refused to do anything but walk in it for the week after that! But at least they got the first taste in....

an ice cube in Iowa...
Yeah, it can be a challenge, especially once they begin entering into the crazy kitten stages. EVERYTHING becomes an adventure, or a toy, or a climbing wall, or a scratching post, etc. My 9 week old Steuben has recently discovered the joys of tee-peeing the entire bathroom. What fun!!!

Tonight I was working on cutting out costume on the kitchen floor. Crinkly tissue paper, fabric, noise, action, paper tunnels...now if that isn't the next best thing to kitten heaven, I don't know what it is. :-)

I was laughing so hard I could hardly get the pattern cut out. It reminded me of why I gave up sewing when my kids came along...

Putting your fingers in the food and allowing them to lick it off is a great way to bond with them and gain their trust. It is a wonderful socialization tool and allows them to not be fearful of hands or fingers. You should try it. I bet you find it as pleasurable for yourself as the kittens will in sampling a new experience.
