On your first meeting/date, what did you do?

The girls and I here in the office are sharing our "first date" stories. Care to share yours with us? With either your currest main squeeze or the last one?

Jerry and I met on line and we met at Chi Chi's for lunch. Our first date lasted 9 hours. We met on Dec 18, 1998, so it was the holiday season. After lunch, we went to see the movie, "You've got Mail!" (very appropriate)
From there we walked around the local mall and I took him into the store my mom works at to meet her. After that, we took my car home and he met Dad. From there it was getting dark, so we went driving around looking at Christmas lights. Stopped and had dinner. He brought me home and we said goodnight at the door. First date lasted 9 hours!

Ok, who's next??

My husband and I met at work. I was his supervisor
We talked on the phone for about 4 days and made plans to go to the state fair. Around 4 pm we met to go. On the way we stopped and got Arby's and ate them in the car. We never made it to the fair. We ended up parking the car at the beach and talking for hours on end. I think it was 3 am before I got home that night. He was quite the gentleman. He didn't even try to kiss me the whole night. I had to actually make the first move . To this day we are known to stay up all night talking. My mom made the comment once "I don't know how you two sleep at night, neither of you can stop talking" It's SO true!

My fiance and I met at work. He was working for the competition and then my company bought his and we became co-workers. Our first date was on December 27/02 and we went to East Side Mario's for supper

I think alot of people meet thier SO's at work........my dad was a movie theater manager and my mom was the popcorn girl!!!

Pat and I met at work, too (he was a salesman and I was the sales and marketing assistant). I was 22 and he was 29. I couldn't stand him at first, but after getting to know him I found out he wasn't so bad.

I actually tried to cancel out on our first date. I was working weekends at the Renaissance fair that summer, in addition to my other job, and my first rehearsal was that day. The rehearsal was an hour and a half away, I had to do stage combat that day, it was outdoors, and it rained all day. By the time I got home I was tired, sore from head to toe, wet, cold, miserable, cranky, and late. I tried to call him to cancel, but I found out he was already on his way. I rushed into the shower and to get makeup on and dressed. I ended up being probably the worst hair day of my life. I spent the whole time asking myself what the heck I was doing...he was seven years older, divorced with a kid, and living at home with his parents. Hardly my ideal man at the time.

We went to see a show at Second City that night. After the show we went for a long walk in the dark. We ended up having a great time, laughing and joking about my terrible day and my awful hair. It was the only time I ever felt totally comfortable with someone on a first date. He drove me home and we ended up sitting in the driveway all night long kissing and talking.

I won't kiss and tell, but all i'm saying is that i met Gil through a friend nearly 6 months ago.

John & I met at work too!

I had moved here from home, to be with my then boyfriend of 4 years. I started working here @ the body shop and noticed John right away. We didn't really talk for about a year, just work chit-chat and what not. He didn't seem like my type right away. He was into drugs (weed, ect. and heavy drinking), and I didn't want to deal with that. Things with my then boyfriend went bad about a year later and I was talking to Joe (John's uncle who works here) and told him that I was interested in John but told him that I wouldn't date him with the things he was into - the next day, John called me, we hung out - and he's been clean for a year! (Sorry that got long, but I had to share that part )

Our first date... we went to a local bar that my best friend bartended at, had a drink and then went back to his place and watched a movie - I broke up wtih my boyfriend about a week later and started dating John seriously a month later!

1 year later, I've never been happier!

You know this is pretty sad but I don't think we had a 'first date'. I was Mark's supervisor at the bank where he worked part time while studying. He had a girlfriend and I had a boyfriend (a horrible one), there were sparks everywhere but it was frustrating because both of us were taken so never actually spoke about our feelings.
His relationship was dying a death and mine died the minute it started and eventually we finished with them. Then we went out a few times as a group, then my friends couldn't go out one night (Mark's birthday) so I decided to go out with him and his friends on my own, and we class that as our first date, or the official date we got together.
After that we spent almost every day together going to the cinema, partying, dancing, going for drives, and the whole time we talked and laughed none stop. It was GREAT. It still is, or it will be once his exams are over...

My first meeting with my husband was ironic. I was dating his cousin at the time, we were at the coffee house in town, having sodas and doing homework ( yeah way back in HS) and he came up the stairs, I go oh my god is that an albino ( he had his hair bleeched white, hes already blonde so it was a streach to white) and it turned out to be tony, who is now my husband. hehe

I'm trying to remember what my ex's and I's first date was and I think I'm in the same boat as Lauren, we just hung out in groups and such. My current friend and I met at a club and I'm with Susan on this one
