What color kittens could you get if you have:

a black silver torbie with white mother and a solid blue father,
a black classic torbie mother and a black silver classic tabby father,
a black and white mother and a black classic tabby father?

what color would the girls be and what color would the boys be?

Thanks in Advance!!

a black silver torbie with white mother and a solid blue father:
females: black, tortie, blue or dilute tortie (if the mother carries the dilute gene) with or without silver, white spotting and/or patterns.
males: black, red, blue or creme (if the mother carries the dilute gene) with or without silver, white spotting and/or patterns.
a black classic torbie mother and a black silver classic tabby father
females: black, tortie, blue or dilute tortie (if both parents carry the dilute gene) with or without silver and/or patterns.
males: black, red, blue or creme (if both parents carry the dilute gene) with or without silver and/or patterns.
a black and white mother and a black classic tabby father:
females: black or blue (if both parents carry the dilute gene) with or without white spotting and/or patterns.
males: black or blue (if both parents carry the dilute gene) with or without white spotting and/or patterns.

Of course I forgot the possibility with chocolate and chocolate torties and also lilac and lilac tortie.

In order to get chocolate or chocolate torties both parents have to carry the chocolate gene. To get lilac or lilac torties both parents have to carry both the chocolate gene and the dilute gene.

I wish you guys would show photos of the cats you are talking about! So much easier for us 'dummies' to understand! <sigh>

Do a picture search on www.google.com and you'll find lots of nice pictures of cats with these colors.

Just for correction on colors and would make it easier to understand (for future reference)

"black silver torbie with white" - should be called a Silver Torbie with White - instead of having the normal torbie colors of black/red with the tabby markings in both colors, you have the silver color with red and tabby markings in both colors.

"black classic torbie" - should be called Brown Classic Torbie - sometimes the brown tabbys apprear more black then brown but they are still considered to be brown tabbys.

"black silver classic tabby" - should be just Silver Classic Tabby - again you don't have to name the black - it's just a silver with black markings.

"black classic tabby" - should be Brown Classic Tabby - same as above - they are brown tabbys, not black tabbys.

GoldenKitty45: I think it's a cultural thing.
In Sweden we talk of the colors differently than you. Just for example: the term torbie doesn't even exist here.

That is true - in other countries you have slightly different terms. But what would you call a tortoiseshell cat that had striping in the black color and the red color? In reality its a tortoiseshell tabby (or is that what you'd call it)?

And in Australia, you have the Apricot Mist - which is not red or cream - its color is a peachy color shade unlike any color I've seen. They are very striking and pretty - I'd love to own one.

We call them mackerel/spotted/classic tabby torties.

New to the breeding world, we bought three Siberians a year ago. It was amazing how much the pedigrees varied regarding color and pattern. Also the TICA and CFA registrations differed. I would love to see more uniform standards by breeders & registries both.

Does anyone know where I can get a chart or list that has the most acceptable way to list kittens?
