The things this cat seems to understand and do constantly amaze me, especially considering he's only been here a few weeks, and he's only about 6 months old. Incident after incident.
Insomniac that I am, I've been awake all night. Suddenly I realized I hadn't seen Deja Vu most of the night, which was odd. I looked and called, no Deja Vu. I even wondered if I had let her outside by accident, although I didn't remembering opening the door after they were fed, and she did eat.
I'm walking around calling her, looking in places that I didn't think she'd be and wondering if she had become ill and was hiding because she has 2 or 3 places she likes to hang, and if she wasn't in one of them, something was wrong.
Suddenly Little Big Man walks past me, lays down next to the recliner, and stuck his nose under the bottom edge of the recliner and just lay there still.
Then it hit me. I had been watching TV in the living room earlier in the recliner. I pushed it pack and sure enough, Deja Vu saunters out. She must have snuck under there while I reclining in it earlier, and when I got up and raised it, she got stuck in there.
Little Big Man knew I was looking for her and showed me exactly where she was. Considering his age and how long he's been here, that was pretty darned good.
It is almost eerie, the way he just seems to know and understand things. Similar situations happen often with him. If he talked to me one day I wouldn't be surprised.
