hi, i am new today, have 2 girl cats, both black and white, bonnie we have had around 10 years old, and the other one, tallulah we have only had since sept, whereas bonnie was spayed early on, tallullah has not been done, she is about 3 years old, and when she comes into season, she keeps seeming to try and mate with bonnie, surely cats cant be gay? we are planning on getting her spayed soon, but just wondered about if cats really could be homosexual? she often puts her butt into bonnies face, and keeps on running round after her and making that funny squeaky, quite human sounding noise, bonnie gets angry, and bites or hits her, but tallullah wont give up, anyone know anything about this?

Animals can be gay, but I don't think that's what's going on. It's just that the mating instinct in unspayed or unneutered cats is so strong they'll pick on just about anything that moves, and a lot of things that don't, which can drive everyone crazy til they've been operated on.

No, I don't think kitties can be gay...it's just that when a kitty is in heat, they offer themselves (that sounds horrible, but it's true) to just about any and every cat that is around. She'll stop once she's spayed.
Lol...forgot about the "anything that moves, and a lot of things that don't" part of them being in heat.
I always feel so sorry for kitties in heat...poor things are so desperate!!
