I'm so upset right now my coworkers set me up! They wrote a report to my manager acting like a customer stating that I was being very rude to them! I know that's complete bologna for I am always smiling and being extremely nice to the customers! Even on my bad days I am nice to the customers! Plus I happened to glance at the report sitting on the counter and I recognized one of my coworker's handwriting!

I'm so upset about this! My manager did not even wait to see how well I work with customers (She just got back from vacation) before firing me!

That is TERRIBLE!! As a sign of solidarity with you, I will listen to "Mean Girls" from the soundtrack of the movie (my 25yo daughter is disabled & we enjoy those kinds of movies together
) because the words will certainly fit your co-workers. Also, you will need to get a copy of the complaint & also your employee file. If your company has a Human Resources dept., contact your HR rep. for help. Otherwise, get ahold of your state's Labor Commission and find out about the firing laws in your state. Do your requesting in writing - if you want help in wording it, you can PM me or else post for some ideas from the others here. What they did was wrong and I'd be willing to bet that they think that you will just walk away with "your tail tucked between your legs" and go cry somewhere. GRRRRR - if only i were closer!
I know you'd prob. like to just put all this behind you, but unless your manager is willing to write a good recommendation letter for your future use, you need to get your record clean! Please keep us posted! Meanwhile {{{prayers & vibes}}} that you get a better job elsewhere!
P.S. Lexus is such a gorgeous kitty!
What a good looking cat - he looks pretty large - how much does he weigh?? I am so glad that you have him during this crisis - he looks like he has a real good purr-box - I think I can hear it all the way to California

Lexus isn't mine actually my buddy is Jack Daniels. She is just a cat I befriended at the humane society that I'm trying to help
. As far as this issue goes there's no more I can do they won't give me a copy of the complaint so that's definitly out of my hands. I'm not going to put it on my resume that I worked here and i've already applied for another gas station job that's desperate for good help.

That's really unfair, good luck with the job you've applied for.

You can still fight it. They need to save the copy of why you were fired and you can go to your job service center and tell them and they will give you information on how to get back at these people. It's being unfairly fired. And that's illegal. I know because I'm in upper management and I've seen many of my former ( notice that word) co workers dismissed for similar things. It's sad really, if you don't like someone, that's to bad, deal with it and go on. That's why we are in our positions, your manager was completely in the wrong, and handled it in the wrong way.

I agree do not just put this behind you.
You need to at the least file a grievance with Labor & Industries.

You do not have to mention it on a future resume', but the information is easily obtainable by a prospective employer.
This needs to be taken care of.

Werent you acting rude to your coworkers before while there were customers there?
Maybe this is why?

No I wasn't. And even if I was I don't remember it for it would have come and gone by now.

Can't you just tell your boss that you know that its your coworkers handwriting?? It wouldn't be legitimate to fire you if your boss knew that.

Of course, with coworkers like that, who would want to work there I guess.

I think you are eligible for unemployment. If the company fights paying it, then they will have to have a hearing and prove they were right to dismiss you, and I think even if they were, you are still eligible. check it out.

I don't think you can get EI if you're fired..I know in Canada you can't.

It depends (even in Canada) on what you are fired for, certain Record of Employment forms make you eligible for unemployment, if you can prove you were not fired for behaviour / stealing etc you can claim

Did your boss meet you/see you work prior to this incident?

It just seems odd that they would fire you for no other reason than a letter that may have come from a co-worker (if you recognised the hand writers so would your boss right?), if you were previously known for being a good employee.

Is there any other reason that they might have a grudge against you? Most bosses wouldnt want the hassle of hiring/training new staff over the sake of one complaint vs. a previously clean record.

Always remember when that sort of thing happens at work it sticks and usually goes down on your file!.
That was way in the beginning when I was still in training so I didn't get wrote up for that and plus me and that coworker had worked things out and were actually doing well together. We made a pretty good team.

I talked with my boss today and she said that some guy even came in and said that I was rude to him twice (I'm assuming I must've rubbed off on him in the wrong way cuz I have nooo idea where I would have been rude.
) I'm not worried about it though because I have an interview next week for a different gas station and I never liked this job anyway it was a horrible workplace environment.

I appreciate everyone being there for me thanks for the advice I did take it and went in today to talk with my boss but she's so hard-headed I'm just not going to worry about it. She does say that she will give a good reference for me though so I'm not worried about this incident being on my record.
