My cat escaped last night. I've had her for about 3 months now and she's never been in the city or outside of my house before.

She clawed through a screen and I was wondering if she would know to come back. She's never seen the front or back door so will she know where to go?

Oh, I hope you find her!!! She may find her way back, but there are things you can do to help her. Take a piece of clothing that has your scent on it (preferably one you have worn for awhile and perhaps sweated in) and leave it outside. I know there are other threads with a lot more info. I'll see if I can find something (unless someone beats me to it)!
Prayers for your baby!!!

Whatever you do - PLEASE don't call the cops on your neighbors (from your thread "when is enough enough") until your kitty is home and safe!

If her litterbox is dirty, put the "dirty" contents out on different sides of your house, or even some of the litter, so she can smell "home". Put up posters in your neighborhood (make sure they are simple with big letters, like "LOST CAT- SIAMESE-CREAM WITH BROWN POINTS-FEMALE-PLEASE CALL ******** (with home and cell) and offer a reward if possible and check with your animal control or humane society. Also check with your local vets, just in case she's been injured (I know, but...)

Will pray your kitty comes home soon.

I've been outside investigating and a neighbor reports that she's seen Yen walking with a large tuxedo cat yesterday afternoon. So atleast I know she's still in the area and she's alive.

I will do both of the thing suggested. I will just have to keep my dog indoors because she will eat the litter...sick I know, but the clothes should help I hope. When she went into heat after the kittens passed she was content just to sit in the window sills, but she must have seen this other cat out there and she clawed her way right through a screen. I couldn't believe it. She's never showed any desire to go outside before(even while in heat).

My son and I are going out to look for her (we're bring her cat carrier and some wet cat food and hopefully we'll be able to contain her if we find her. We are also making posters for her today. I'm really glad I have a roll of pictures of her.

p.s. Rockcat, I know I would not dream of phoning while Yen is missing, but they don't know I own a cat, they just know about my dog, which they threatend her life when they thought they were alone, but I was outside and heard them.

From experience looking for another one-time runaway cat, she is probably far closer than you'd dream.

I was out looking for this cat all night, til five am, all over the neighborhood. I woke up at nine the next morning, went outside to start looking again, and decided to call his name.

Mrowww, I hear in response... would you know where he was! UNDER the house! He had come home at some point and climbed under the back porch.

Look in all the weird little nook-and-cranny places close to your house first, and then start expanding from there.

So cute that Yen has made a friend in her travels, though. Hopefully they're both hanging around nearby.

Yea, I was glad to hear she was still in the neighborhood, but why does the weather have to be so miserable. It started raining, so I haven't been able to put my posters up. I have still been keeping a look out for her.

Do cats normally stay in the general area????

Any suggestions on how to catch her if I find her????

My parents cat would get out and go in the back yard and eat the grass and then go in the open land and try to hunt... when we cant find him we send our black lab after him and the dog will chase the cat back in the house.

Best of luck with finding her

How old is she, and is she fixed? My oldest cat disappeared for 3 days when she (apparent when she got back and brought the "boyfriend" with her
) went into her first heat.

My girl Yen is a 4 year old chocolate point siamese and she is still intact.

I was out tonight for the last hour and half searching the back allies of my neighborhood. I found the cat me neighbor saw Yen with, but Yen was no where to be found. I also saw two other cats, but they got away too fast before I could really get a good look at them. This gives me a little more hope.

I have put her litter box outside by the stairs with clothes I wore straight for the past two days so it had my scent on it and talked to neighbors about her. Tomorrow I am also going to the spca here and phoning the scat street cat rescue to notify them of a lost pet....It will cost me 10 bucks at each place but it's worth it. I also made flyers to put into people's mailboxes about Yen missing. I hope and Pray I find her soon as I am leaving on tuesday for New Mexico and I wouldnt't feel right going without knowing she is home safe. The trip is mandatory for school, but my husband and son will still be home looking for her

YEN COME HOME!!!

Oh my neighbors are giving me trouble as usual and I have talked to my landlords about this. I know they talked to the people upstairs about it but other than that I doubt that they have.

They didn't even know I owned a cat until tonight when I asked the mom to watch for her by the door incase. I was too scared to tell them until now.

I was out late last night and early this morning looking for Yen. I saw like 9 other cats, but none of them were Yen.

I also phoned vets and animal control as well as all the shelters an she's no where to be found! Oddly enough I knew this would be true and I know she is out there close by, I just gotta find her.
