Pregnant and caring low...

Ok I have a few ? because Skittles is really confusing me. I know she is having a lot of babies. She has 11 days to go. That is according to the vet with the xray also. As I see her walk around the house she is caring low to the ground also her back is arched. I hope it makes sense. She is having a hard time climbing to the to of the couch so she claws it... I decided to mover the bed to the window and open it up for her to be nosy. Also the gate she isn't doing well so I leave it open. She is letting me message her tummy while she is on her back and I can scratch it. She loves away on me. On the nipple part I feel them all and each has like bubble I am thinking that is milk. I can feel all the babies. If I count right I count 8. Is it ok for her to be caring this low and also her poor back has to be killing her.

The vet may have been wrong on how many days to go.
It may not be eight you are feeling, but rather four that are due sooner than you think?
If it is eight, then she has no where else to put them anyway....lol... so I would not be surprised if she is big all over for a good 2 or 3 weeks before her due date.
*Most* cats I have had have not had milk til 2-5 days before delivery, some not until the day of... but I have also had cats have milk 2 weeks before.... so pretty much anything goes, that depends on her hormone levels.

Adina's belly didn't drop until the day she delivered. It doesn't sound like Skittles will go 11 days. Does she have any discharge yet? Poor Adina didn't do much but lay around for the last week. Exciting

From the sound of it (coupled with her decreased appetite), Skittles will be giving birth to skittlets far sooner than 11 days from now.

Skittle she is famous around here. I took this a few days ago..If correct late Thursday night. She had an xray done almost 2-3 weeks ago and he said 7. He could see 100% there was 6 but there was also 2 others he was not sure of. Could be 7 or 8. She is big and due May 16-19th

I don't think poor skittles will go 11 more days. I know every cat is different however this is what I learned dealing with Moe. 4 days before birth she stopped eatting alot. 3 days before birth she started letting me rub her tummy. 1 week or so before her teets started to puff and swell they got bigger every day. the day she gave birth her bottom 2 teets felt like they had golf balls in them when she was standing and I felt her I even called the vet because I wasn't sure they were suppose to feel like that he said not to worry that she was fine. She never really "dropped" because one day she would look as if she was thinning out the next she looked looked like she was carring a football. Moe has always been a clean cat so I never see any discharge from her. She never really "nested" until the day she gave birth she snooped around the house for 2 days before she gave birth but never really gave any indication as to where she was going to have them. I would just sit back and watch her. If she disapeers I would be very quiet and see if you can find her but I wouldn't call her name or bother her unless she is in a dangerous place to have the babies.

There is no dangerouse places in my very tiny home LOL.. I figured she would poop when she does. I am not worried about the date but worried that she is so big. Even if I had another month t go I am ok with it. Waiting game is noting new to be. It is just she is so low and big. She is still eating very little. I put 2 cups of food dry in her bowl Tuesday. There is still food left I give her 3oz of wet every morning and 3 every night. She isnt even eating it. She licks the liquid from some of the cans but that is it Just worries me she isnt getting enough. My mom said to try some tuna juice on the wet or dry food, but She has never eating our food. She wont even touch dinner that is on the counter if she gets up there. I can leave my plate where ever I want.

Sounds like she is ready for them to be out of there, poor thing.

I think she is but I think she has more time to go....

i think she will have them in less than a week..i would say probably by this friday.

I wont hold my breath LOL... She is loving the tile right now.

That sounds exactly like what Kitty did like 2-3 days before she had her kittens. Kitty only had 2 kittens and she was so big i was expecting at least 5! i cant imagine what poor Skittles is goin thru. poor baby!

I lost her... She is no where around. I have looked everywhere......Yes all door & windows are closed...hmmmm
