can cats get ticks?

the kids and i went walking yesterday and the youngest came home and found a tick on her well needless she freaked and brushed it off. it is somewhere in my carpet eww im pretty sure it was a tick since we have found1 more after checking bodies after that. my concern is can my cats pick it up? the got something from the vet but not sure if it was frontline advantage or what. never worried about ticks before since all 3 are inside cats. but what is the chance of it crawling onto a cat and anything i have to worry about?

ok is this something i can just check for everyday or should i go to the vet? i dont know if what the vet gives them is for fleas and ticks or just fleas.

Just check them two or three days while you are petting them every day, hopefully the tick won't get on to your kitties.

Some flea stuff from the vet, including Frontline, kills ticks and fleas. Dushka got a tick once from outside, but it was dead by the time I noticed it. Still horrid to take off her though. Ticks carry diseases so it is best to watch out very carefully.

ok i vacumed right after so i think ill just keep checking them everyday for a while not too much of a problem since we pet them all the time 1 would rather be on my lap than anywhere else lol
