First of all, I wanted to thank everyone who answered my distress call about my big boy.

I've had cats all my life, the youngest one is 7 months old, bicolor tabby, his name is Grendel. The oldest one, Scratch, just died early this morning (12:15 am). But, he's with his dog now.

Anyway, also have two horses, which are boarded in California (we moved out of state), the younger mare is going out on a breeding lease for two years so I can save up the transport fees, and only have to pay board on one horse while she's out on lease.

Hi there
we're so happy to welcome you, and your furbabies to TCS. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay with us - we're one great big family and you'll find loads of friends here. If I can help at all while you're finding your way around TCS just click on my username and send me a Personal Message - I'll do what I can to answer your questions

I'm so sorry that you lost your dear Scratch - that must hurt so deeply.
I don't know whether you've seen our forum called Crossing the Bridge - it's a place where those who have lost their kitties can post a tribute to them. When you feel ready, you might like to post a tribute to Scratch there.

I'll tell ya, I'm VERY glad I found you guys here!
You've all really been supportive and helpful just in the past couple days I've been here.

Oh yeah, my user name....that's my gaming handle, lol. Someone already was registered with my real name, so I went with my gamer name. I'm a lady pyrate in my alternate world....

My husband decided to appeal to my rescuing nature to shake me out of MY depression and grief. Which, as I told him, only time will truly fix the grief. So, he got me another cat which needed a home, not as a replacement, but to distract me, and to make sure that Grendel has a buddy.
It's actually working to a point, because this boy is kinda needy. So he's definitely taking me out of just curling up in a ball and hiding in my room, which is what I've been doing since my boy died.

he is a bi-color ginger tabby, his name is Jeb-Jeb (dunno why, it doesn't fit, lol). The boys are sorting out how to get along, for the most part.
