Just curious what everyone's opinions are on the best cat water drink fountains. Like Drinkwell. I have one, I forgot what brand it is off the top of my head.

Looking for one like drinkwell, or an off brand, but I like how the water comes out of it. My cats like to drink out of the faucet sometimes and when I am pouring water into the one I have, Kinks comes running up to have a drink from the stream I am pouring.

Any thoughts? Some are so expensive so I might check Ebay or Freecycle.

I chose Drinkwells as they are the easiest to find filters and replacement parts for. Sooner or later that pump is going to go, or I'll lose or break a part while cleaning it.

Petsmart runs them on sale from time to time- I believe I got mine for $33 USD each.

I have a Drinkwell and my faucet drinking cat loves it! My other kitty could care less about it, but she'll drink out of it, too. It's easy to clean and doesn't make a lot of noise, except the sound of the water coming out, which is actually quite soothing.

I have a Petmate Fresh Flow & I don't like the silly thing. The water doesn't hardly run enough to entice Twitch to drink from it. I put it downtairs for Ophie & bought a Drinkwell for upstairs. The Drinkwell is much easier to clean & keep up. I don't have to fill the Drinkwell as often with Twitch & Lily drinking from it as I have to fill the Fresh Flow w/ just Ophie drinking from it.

I bought the Drinkwell on sale for $29.99 at www.drsfostersmith.com. I don't know if it's still on sale or not, but they had a good price in filters, too(IMO).

We have the Petmate Fresh Flow, one cat likes it, the other is scared of it ... I think its just a matter of personal preference. It is quiet, and not too hard to clean. The little cascade of water probably isn't enough to entice cats that love running water, but on the other hand, if you have a cat that is scared of running water, they might find this more agreeable.

We have not tried any other fountains so I have nothing to compare it to.

i have a freshflow, too, & it's ok - but i would buy the dog size if i were doing it again - i have to fill it fairly often. i'd like to get a catit, but just can't justify the expense when the one i have works just fine & everyone is ok drinking from it.
