A bald eagle in my neighborhood!!

I was at my neighbor's house this afternoon talking about her landscaping and a bird caught my eye. I have a very amateur birder but I immediately recognized it-a bald eagle!!! Her grandkids were in the yard but it disappeared out of our sight shortly after I spotted it. So cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know several of them nest about 12-13 miles away-maybe I'll have some new birds to watch now (other than my tempermental bluebird!!

I have seen them locally here, too! It's amazing what a comeback they have made!

We live near the Puyallup River and every December the Eagles go there to eat the spawned out salmon. We can walk the levee and count 40 at a time. It's wonderful that they have made such a comeback.

Oh awesome! About a year ago DH and I were headed to TN and we actually had to stop on this back road because there was one sitting in the middle of the road eating! We were about 10-15 feet away from it. I was in awe!
