This is from a friend of mine who helps to get dogs/cats out of rural kill shelters and into rescues. It's a great opportunity to make a difference.

Can't adopt but want to help? TRANSPORTERS NEEDED!
Part of the effort to save these animals involves TRANSPORT... we run a transport almost every weekend. If you are willing to help even every once in a while, please email me at [email protected] We go up a fairly standard route just about every weekend that includes Richmond, VA -- Northern, VA -- Baltimore, MD -- Newark, DE -- Mt. Holly, NJ -- Woodbridge, NJ and then often north into CT, MA, NH & VT. But we would love to add you to our contact list wherever you are!

You mention MA and NH, do you ned transpoters in maine? I was just wondering I am not sure In would beable to do much transporting with my daughter and all, but if ever I was able I would love to transport, I have transported 1 dog before, but only a couple hours here in maine to a boxer reascue when I was working at the shelter. Whenit came in I notified the rescue and when her time was up I brought her there for them. I would like to foster for a rescue but can't have a dog, and it would be cool to help in another way until I am able to foster.
