I just got off the phone with my Grandma

One of my cousins just was playing at school today, and went to kick a ball and they all heard something pop - even the teacher heard it! He collapsed to the ground, and they rushed him to the ER - he couldn't stand or anything - the DR told them that the main muscle of his leg had seperated from the bone, by his hip/pelvis. The DR. has only seen about 5 cases of this before, and its usually found in professional football players.

He's confined to a wheel chair for 3 months until its healed - and if they were to do surgury - it were to make more problems, considering the age that he is - he's only 15

He cannot go to school for the last month, so he has to get a tutor to finish off the rest of his year. He's SUCH an active kid - in many sports, and always outside and camping with us this summer. His whole summer is shot, and I just feel so horrible for him.

I was hoping that you all could send a few extra vibes his way - I just cry even thinking about it all. We're really close - and just seeing him have to go thru this kills me so much - I'd much rather it happen to me than him!

Thanks in advance for all the vibes and prayers... sorry this got a bit long!

That's terrible and sounds extremely painful
. I'm so sorry he's going to lose out on so much activity....that's the worst for a 15-year-old kid! Sending a prayer your cousin's way for a quick recovery

Thanks everyone, it means a lot

She said that he's having really bad spasms in his leg, so he's on a lot of pills to help the pain - but he's still in a lot of pain.

I'm going home this weekend to see him - so I'm going to put together a basket of stuff for him to keep busy with while he's refined to that darn chair.

Thanks again for the prayers/vibes. You guys are awesome

I hope so too! He's so big into sports, I just hope it doesn't hurt his chances of playing anymore!

I talked to my aunt (his mom) tonight, and she said that he's doing pretty well - the muscle relaxers he took today are working pretty well, and he hasn't had any bad spasms so far... so thats a good thing. I can't wait to go home and see him - I still feel horrible that this all happened, especially to a young active kid like him.

Oh poor baby! It is going to be tough on him for awhile since he's so used to being active, but I am sure he will really appreciate your basket of goodies!
