Well I took my 2 littles orphaned girls just an hour ago to their new Mama
She took to them quite well and even gave them a bath while I was there
. They were eating as I left. I named them Annie(you know for Orphan Annie) and Ramsey(she was really a livewire and the name seemed to fit!) This was the first time I have ever done anything like this and it was a very gratifying task. Thank you all for answering my questions and next time the duty calls(hopefully there won't be a need) I will know what to do!

Hayley,

If no one has said this to you today, please allow me to be the first ...

Thank you for being you and for doing the right thing by these two little kittens. You are my Hero.

Since you mentioned it was gratifying to you, why not check in with the shelter folks from time to time and see if you can't foster a pregnant mommy for them every now and then? There is a great need for people who are willing to foster and you would be sharing a wonderful experience with a needy kitty ... just something to think about.

Be good to yourself today. You did a good thing.

I will check into that. I'm thinking about volunteering at the SPCA here in town and I will see what all I can do to help. Thank you for the compliment!

Ahhhhh, good idea! I know you will be a valuable asset to them and the work is rewarding. It is also heartbreaking, but no matter what you do, the shelter cats will know the gentle touch of a person who really cares.

Hayley...that's wonderful that you are checking into volunteering. As someone who is also involved in cat rescue, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. And I second what Gaye says...you will certainly be a valuable asset to them.
