advice please

my cat loves my dog, they play together all the time. i took my dog to get groomed 2 weeks ago. ever since he came home, my cat has been scared of him. my cat hides and always comes out of hiding very slowly. can anybody give advice.

Sure, your dog probably had some smelly shampoo, conditioner, hair spray(?) and who knows what all over him. You may want to hose him down to neutralize those a bit, or else put some pure vanilla extract under the cat's chin and near its tail, and do it between the dog's shoulder blades and near his tail. Then they'll smell the same as each other, which sometimes helps. My cat's in love with my dog too, but while the dog kind of likes him, he's not really sure what it's all about and after the nuzzling and sniffing, goes away - I feel so sorry for my cat (who does have other cat friends here)!

Like Larke said, your dog smells different after the groomers and so has become a stranger to your cat. If both of them share some kind of linen like a towel or an old bedsheet, how about rubbing it on your dog to erase the new scent on him.
