For the last 2 days, I have been finding claws on my floor..
I've never experienced this, do they shed???

Its not as thick, but its the same size that you see on the cats..
And the cats arent missing any...
I have a 2 yr old, mommy...and her 8wk old baby.
Im guessing they are coming from the baby, are they baby claws? like baby teeth??

They are still as sharp as they were on his paw

Yes - they do shed and look like an hollow claw. I'm always finding them around the house.

It's just the old claw sheath that gets shed, not the actual claw. I'm always finding them on the carpet. And no they're not only from baby - cats continually shed claw sheaths exposing the nice, sharp, pointy claw underneath!

aww Thanks so much to both of you. I thought maybe it was a baby thing, because Momma has been here longer and I never saw it once..

It started happening after I clipped baby's nails too, so thats why I got worried

Sometimes when you clip them you just loosen the outside layer (old sheath) and makes it easier for the kitty to get it off. Mine often start to chew on their nails and i think might eat the sheath sometimes (which might be why you haven't seen them much before).

My 6 yr old daughter used to be so excited when she'd find one and awhile back I found that she'd been saving them in a special spot!
She thought they were sooooo cool! Toooo funny...I ended up getting her to finally just throw them away when she'd find one. She's so silly!
