My kitty's keep playing with their water bowl and dumping the water all over the kitchen floor. Why do they do this? Some-1 told me that they might not be able to see the water and I should put a drop of food coloring inside....is this right? If I buy heavier bowls will they stop? They are Bengals so they are strong and a heavier bowl may not work. HELP!

Our Sunny used to do this a lot. We got some strong velcro from a hardware store, and attached one side to the bottom of the bowl, and the other to our tile floor. After a few weeks, she stopped trying to tip it, and we haven't had a problem since! If you think it's a problem getting the velcro back off of the floor, you can do so with a razor blade (or some such) and it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks, I just got back from the store and I bought a heavy dog bowl. I'll see how this works.

I had the same problem and Maherwoman's suggestion worked crazily well for me.

I've read cats don't like it when their whiskers touch the side of the bowl.
