Mainly price!
I find Mary Kay costs an awful lot more (at least here in Canada) and I'm not convinced it's worth the extra cost to be honest.

I agree. I've tried Mary Kay also. It's too pricey and not really that impressive.

Remember the Avon lady visiting us on the farm when I was a kid.

A Mary Kay rep offered to find me a wife if I joined. Told her daughter about the offer and she was like, "So that is how my mom is recruiting all those men."

Had the shaving cream been as good as promiced I would have joined up at least as a customer. But I got the worst razer burn of my life with it.

I've actually found a fruit shampoo that works better then regular shaving cream.

I've used makeup from them before. Can't remember the exact names, it was awhile ago. I liked it though.

Hubby likes their Planet Spa body washes so I get those for him. I tried their Anew products but wasn't overly impressed. I do buy my eyebrow pencils, lipliners, lipstick stuff from Avon and sometimes their other products like cheap jewelry and stuff, but I don't use their perfumes (too strong smelling for me) nor do I use their creams (I have sensitive skin).

Honestly, I don't really think any one product is so much better than another that one should have to pay megabucks for it so I refuse to buy Mary Kay because I think it's overpriced and no better than Avon.

I am just going back to Avon after using Dr. Denese for a few years. I have been a store manager and acct. executive in the cosmetics business for many, many years and have used everything (fortunately most of it I didn't have to pay for) and I know that most of what you pay for is packaging, store space, advertising, etc. I think that Avon is probably as good as anything around. I like their Anew line and do know that they put alot of money into research! Am actually thinking of selling so that I can take advantage of the discount! Go for it!

You know, my holy-grail hand cream is from Avon. Since I work with special needs kids, many of them are diapered, and I wash my hands like 500 times a day during the work week. I LOVE Avon's Silicone Gloves hand cream...it's WONDERFUL!

I love Avon, my mom used to be an Avon lady so our house was filled with Avon products.
I use their face scrubs.

I just ordered the new kaleidiscope nailpolishes. Four of the six colors. I like the lotions and the chapsticks. I've gotten a few shoes and I love the bags, but I've yet to buy any. I also like their mascara and eyeliners.

I love Avon products! I buy a lot of it for Christmas presents, and their Christmas decorations are amazing! I don't use the makeup that much because of allergies, but I adore the jewellery. And they sponsor good causes too - I bought a ton of the Avon Breast Cancer jewelled purse notebooks and gave a lot of them as tuck-ins for Christmas presents. Great price, beautiful product, and all of the proceeds went to Breast Cancer research - definitely a win-win!
