Have a MySpace account?

If so have you met anyone from there? B posted a myspace page and is looking to expand his circle of friends (all of ours keep getting jobs out of state! ) and I was thinking about doing the same thing.
However, my one drawback is that I'm concerned I'll get mostly psychos wanting to be my friend AND on top of that I found my psycho ex-best friend's page on the site (so of course I won't post my own picture).

Just wondering if you've made any friends off the site or not. Or is it mainly used for dating purposes?

I know quite a few people that have myspace accounts. I won't get one though. Too many crazy's out there with access to it.

I only have a myspace account to keep in touch with my friends from highschool.....

You can keep you profile private and only the people that you add as friends can see it....

I use Bebo for keeping in touch with my friends and have it so that only my friends can view my account because a few random people added me to begin with and I am so not up for that.

Yes, I saw that you could keep it private. I may just try that.

I do have an account, but I only use it to keep in touch with old friends. It's something to do when I'm bored. I never add friends who I don't know.

I also have an account... which I maintain, but don't do too much with anymore. I log in about once a week or so... I've actually been refusing bands and such around Chicago becasue I'm moving... I'd rather start getting folks from Portland. See if I can scrounge up a social life out there... not like I'd date anyone from MySpace... most of them are... blech. I have one friend I've known a long time... and I have at least one person from here on my friends list... I don't mind adding more!

I was blogging there but now i'm doing more on LJ (Live Journal)... I'm shameless over there... I have two accounts: one for my literary name and one for random posting...

If anyone here wants either my Myspace name or either of my LJ names, PM me.

Yea, I do admit I'm a little leary on doing a space, only because I don't want drama queens (or kings) in my life. I got rid of many of those years ago.

Maybe I'll make one up though and start hitting on B as a joke LOL.

Don't worry, I thought it was only a teenager thing until I started looking around.

It's this online collection of everyone that signs up. You create your own page and from there meet people, date people, etc. You can write blogs, go into forums. You also can list other people as friends and have links to their spaces from yours.
Remember Friendster? The online way of how many people you actually know? Basically its like that, just a little more in depth. I guess Classmates would be another example too...just your not limited to high school classmates.

I have a myspace account and I really like it. I only accept or invite friends I know. I find it is a good way to keep in touch with people you dont get to see often.

I also have a myspace acct. and I love it! it's where I've met up with alot of my real life friends to plan our weekends and to just post funny lil things to each other. and recently I've been finding alot of my old friends from high school on there too. And I have dated a coupld of guys off there but most of um have to get screened by my brothers at the bar before they will let me go out alone with them LOL. Its a fun site I think!

I've had it for a while. It's an easy way to keep in touch with my friends. And my work friends. It's like a little peice of yourself on the internet.

My biological crazy nutcase family is just crazy enough to use myspace to stalk me.

Really the whole world is just crazy enough to use myspace to stalk you, if you put anything even remotely personally identifiable on it. I prefer sites that require a verifiable, linkable-to-a-real-person email accounts to activate them. Like Facebook, which requires a school email and you can decide who is allowed to see it, and they must usually go to your school. So I don't have a Myspace because anyone can look at it without even registering.

I registered but I have never used my account. I registered to see what it is about but so far I have found it very boring.
