My two cats are on a kitty food that Is really cheap as this is what they were weaned on by there first owners. My cat winter will eat anything she does not care. My daughters cat smokey does. Well maybe its not that she cares but she seems to vomit on any other kind of food. I have tried a couple different kinds in the 1 1/2 I have had them but it does not seem to work. I had tried mixing in the new kind until she adjusts to it but with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestion on what could be a cat food that will agree with her. Should they still be on kitty food they will be 2 years old in august. I know I can't change her food right now as winter is pregnant and she needs the kitten food. I would like to change to something a littler better for them. They are currently on special kitty. generic wal-mart brand. I have tried meow mix and 9 lives neither have agreed with smokey. please if anyone has also had this problem please let me know what you did.

Cats should be off kitten food by the time they are a year old. A lot of people make the switch before a year. I have a sensitive cat and it sounds like you have a cat that is either sensitive or allergic. Unfortunately it is a hit or miss thing to find something that they can tolerate. I use California Natural Chicken and Rice. It is a little on the pricey side and from what I have read on this forum it is a little hard to find. Smaller pet stores rather than the chains often have a better selection of foods. I haven't tried them but sometimes feed stores also carry some foods that the large chains don't carry.

If you're going to be feeding kitten food for a while because of Winter's pregnancy, this thread might help: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...highlight=feed
Otherwise, I'd just browse through this forum to get some tips. There's obviously no "ideal" cat food, and everyone has their own favorites. Are you feeding canned food? That might agree with Smokey more than dry would.

I just switched my two cats over to innova evo. The baby is 9 months old and he seems to be doing quite well on it.
