Today, my husband and I adopted two kittens from a shelter. We have a resident cat, Chloe, who is 2 years old. Before we adopted Chloe from another shelter, she was front declawed. Is it safe for her to be around eight week old kittens with claws? We will be slowly introducing them in the next week to 10 days. I'm afraid of her being hurt. Any advise would be helpful. Mary

I don't think there will be any problem at all but just watch them, like you would with any new cat introductions. Once they get to know each other there shouldn'd be a problem. At one time I had 6 clawed cats living with one declawed cat and all was well. They argued with each other sometimes but they were fine. The declawed one ended up being the toughest cat of them all.
