Well my 5 week old kittens are going to the bathroom on the sheets I have in their cage. So I got them a small litterbox and some litter. The thing I am worried about is that they are eating the litter, is that normal? I heard that if they eat a certain kind of litter it may cause the kitten to die. Also is Yesterday's News okay to use with kittens? Because I am thinking of switching to that.

I have fostered many a kitten...presently have 5 5-week old fosters and all are using Yesterday's News.

I purchase small shallow baking pans and fill with Yesterday's News...the baking pans are great because they are disposable & inexpensive. I consistently use Yesterday's News with the little ones because they can't ingest it...it is dust-free and non-clumping. Strongly recommend the baking pans & Yesterday's News.

It is normal for them to try and eat the litter, usually they spit it out. Do not use clumping litter.

Yes they are using the litterbox. They really catch on quick!

Did you switch to Yesterday's News? Or are you at least using non-clumping?

I am using non-clumping litter at the moment, but I think I will eventually switch to Yesterday's News.
