I grew up in the 60's, when people had coal fires, I lived across the murkey Mersey from an industrial Liverpool, down the coast from the shipbuilding Birkenhead, and both my parents smoked. All this resulted in....(sorry).....black bogeys, (I did say I'm sorry). I thought at the time that's what bogeys should be like.

As time has passed I've learnt differently. Yesterday we went on a steam train ride, ad last night I blew my nose, and there was a flash back to my childhood. The memories came flooding back. Just had to share them.

It's maybe not so murky now, but I'm talking about the 60's when the sewage pipe went out from our side of the river into the middle....somewhere......

That's one thing I associate with living in London. Everytime I went into the city, I'd have black boogies afterwards.
