A very sweet stray cat had 5 kittens yesterday at my husbands shop.... I am a little worried about them because of all the people, cars, chemicals etc around the shop... So I would like to take the Mom and the babies to my house until they are old enough to find homes...
My question is.. Is it ok to move Mom and the kittens and when would it be ok to do so?
Thanks and I appreciate any help!!

imo i would move them now! They are much safer with you at your house. Good luck and keep us updated!

Be sure to put Momma into a carrier, first, that way when you start moving everything she won't get upset and run off. Then get the babies into another carrier or box, and quickly get them to your house and settle them in. If she had them on a blanket or something, you could bring it with so everything smells right to Momma.

Then give her the most protected area you can find...whether a guest room closet or a good box. The best choice would be a quiet room where she can be shut in with her kittens. That way if she gets the idea to move them, you will still be able to find them!

Also, remember she can get pregnant soon after having kittens, so you will want to keep her inside only until she can get spayed!

Congrats on the new kittens!
