If a woman, who is usually called skinny, but is just of average size & never been any bigger were to have stretch marks on her butt - not saying it's me!, just any woman in particular, how would she go about getting rid of them the quickest way?
And what could possibly cause them to be there since this person has always been thin?

Stretch marks can be caused simply by growing too fast for your skin to catch up. I've heard cocoa butter will help fade them out, but I'm not sure how completely. They have lotions that contain cocoa butter.

Honestly, there really is no way to get rid of them.

Oh! Funny you should ask. There was an episode of Tyra (talkshow) on today - kind of ridiculous IMO
- about gals' bums that they wanted to change (so materialistic), so they came on the show. One part featured ways to get rid of those, but the treatments are pretty expensive and you have to do it consistently. The problem, btw, is pretty common, so you're (or, umm, who ever you're talking about haha
) not the only one. The only thing that seems like it may help a little bit is some of the creams out there specifically designed for that. It doesn't seem like it would help much, but they say you have to apply and massage it in 1-2 times a day for awhile for any effect......... I dunno....

Vitamin E lotion! I'm serious!!!! I had them on my thighs.

Also, there's some kind of lotion, although its really expensive. I don't remember the name, so I'll have to ask my Mom.

I've heard cocoa butter cream, not lotion works good. The person who told me said to use cream becuase it is more concentrated or more pure cocoa butter or something like that. I havn't really tried it for myself. I just don't see a point in rubbing my tushy twice a day....no one sees it that hasn't already seen it!

White stretch marks go away with time, usually 6 months to a year

WAY too obvious, wasn't I?
I'm going to look at the store tomorrow and start trying different things. Maybe something will help. See, the thing is, I've started getting in the tanning bed and it's making them more noticeable. Not that anyone is seeing them! lol. I definitely can't afford any expensive treatments though. They ain't bothering me enough to go that far!

Thanks for all the help everyone!

The reason people get stretch marks are caused by hormonal changes in your body, which may cause a person to grow or affect a person's metabolism. That is why it is so common for pregnant women to get them.

Even when I wore a size two I had those stupid stretch marks!! I've been told that some women just tend to get them and that they run in the family. If you find something that really works, let us know
I've heard cocoa butter can help keep your skin elastic. I have no idea if those expensive treatments work, but there are a few places run by dermatologists around here who do the treatments.

Under the cats, mostly.
As far as I know the only way to remove stretch marks once you have them is laser treatment which as you'll know you'll have to pay an arm and a leg for. You can prevent them with cocoa butter and almond oils etc.... I have stretch marks on my butt and boobs and belly from when I was pregnant, but they don't stay and angry purple colour.... after a while they just sort of turn silverish and you can hardly see them.

I started using Palmers cocoa butter 6 months before I fell pregnant and continued to use it throughout my pregnancy (day and night). Didnt help me out one little bit and I hardly put on any weight during my pregnancy.
Unfortunatly some things will work for some and not for the other.

I will answer this in a riddle... not a joke... a riddle. The only effective treatment for stretch marks is an abundance of slow, gentle, loving kisses.

Darn it, I can't think of the name of the product right now, but it is used for scars.

Mederma! That is the name of it! I have not used it myself, but I have several clients that swear by it.

I've heard Cocoa Butter.

Also I've heard of people using lotions for wrinkles. There's something in the lotion that helps shrinks cells (thus taking away the wrinkles).

You may never get rid of them (unless your body does so naturally), but you can usually minimize them.

Have you seen a dermo about it yet? They might have something.
