I swear there was a thread about this, but I can't find it!! So i'll just start a new one for now. Well, I am going to the beach right after finals next week, first for my uncles wedding, but then meeting a bunch of girl friends to stay a few days. I am really contemplating getting a bikini wax before I go, and I have a friend here who goes to a good place. But its $30! Would it be worth that? I would love some opinions, b/c I can't decide!!

Its worth 30$ in my opinion. Esp. if you're getting just a bikini wax, and not the whole kit'n'caboodle. Most women are prone to bikini bumpage if they try to shave that part of their leg. The thread title on the old one was "Ladies only, please" or something, so if you searched for waxing it probably didn't come up.

Thanks, I'll search again with that title.

Yeah, the whole razor bumps thing is why I'm thinking of doing it! And yes, I'll definately be embarrassed, but I figure they do it all the time, and I'll probably never see them again unless I go for another one!

And can you even use Nair there? I'd always been a little nervous about that...

$30?! That's CHEAP! I buy around $50 here + tip. Make sure you only go to a reputable salon.

If nothing else, it will be worth it b/c it will last - you wont have to worry about it for at least three weeks.

Okay, okay, I think I'll do it! My friend goes up here every couple weeks and has never had a problem, so I know they do a good job. I'll probably make an appointment for Monday or Tuesday, and I'll be at the beach thursday night. Is that far enough ahead of time?

I got it done once and whilst I was pleased with results, it didnt last any longer than a £3 tube of hair remover cream.

Now I do a mixture of shaving/hair remover cream.

It would be worth going once then maintaining it at home though.

Well, it is done! And worth the pain and money! Its only been about 6 hours and no pain, no bumps, no painful ingrown hairs, no itch, nothing bad! (Except a little redness which I expect to be gone by tomorrow). The lady was also super nice, and made me feel so comfortable! So I recommend it to anyone who has a reputable place to go, and the money to spend...

I am so glad to hear that it went well! I have never had one before, and my friend is going with me at the end of the month to get a brazilian right before my wedding. I am scared! But I think it will be worth it, and I only plan on doing it once!

I got a brazilian once (the whole kit'n'kaboodle) and it was 70 so 30 sounds about right. I would reccomend it... it doesn't really hurt THAT bad but it was kind of awkward.

I promise it will be worth it! I didn't do a full brazilian, but might try that sometime in the future. Yes, it hurt, but only at the time. I just wore soft cotton shorts there, and didn't put my panties back on for the ride home. By the time I got home, it wasn't hurting at all. You'll be glad you're doing it!
