L-Lysine question

OK, I'm sure I've asked this before and I know my vet has told me at least once, but I keep forgetting. How much L-Lysine do you give a cat? Jordan's viral eye problem has flared up again & I'm almost out of the stuff the vet gave me last summer when he was sick. Usually I can get it under control in a couple days, but just incase I wanted to know how much L-Lysine I could give him.

My vet recomends 500mg when not flairing up and 1000mg when it is flairing up.

That's how much I give April Joy.

I pulverize half a pill 500 mg and give it daily with breakfast to prevent eye flare ups. Abi is about 8 months old at the oldest

Thanks guys, I was thinking it was around 500, but thanks for the info on flare ups. Jordan is over 12 lbs so 1000 might work better when he flares up.

Muddy gets 500 with no flare up and 1000 with flare up. He's 10 pounds.
