My kitten has been sick off and on for about almost a week. She recently got spayed about a week ago, and I don't know if this is an effect from it. About 3-4 days ago she came home from the backyard acting weird; normally she'd come in and go straight to her food bowl, but instead she just sat and looked like she was tired. Then, I noticed her strange breathing motions: it looked like she was choking. We're not sure if she ate a piece of bone from a wild rabbit and it got stuck in her throat. She doesn't make any weezing noises when she breathes, but it looks like she breathes really hard and slowly. She also looks tired/disgruntled. Just yesterday she was looking a lot better so we decided not to take her to the vet; she was playing around with the other cat. But today she started acting up again. Does anyone know what could be wrong with her? Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Take her to the vet. Sounds like she may have swallowed something and it could be an obstruction, Blockage, ect. I would defiently go to the vet and see whats going on. Being an inside/outside it coule be any number of things.

Your kitten needs to go to the vet as soon as possible! There could be any of a number of things going on with your baby. Waiting to see if she gets better is wasting valuable time. Please take her to the vet!

If your cat was truly just spayed a week ago, she should not have been outside...they are supposed to be kept quiet (NO jumping) for at least 10 days. Please do take her to the vets to find out what has happened.

I thought the same thing - why was she outside so soon after spaying. (or at all for that matter since I'm an advocate of indoor only cats.
)

Sounds as though you really need to take her to a vet.

I also thought the samething. My vet says no outside for two weeks after spaying. The chance of infection are also much higher by allowing them to go outside so soon after a spay.Your cat needs to go to the vet ASAP.
