I've seen all kinds of threads on TCS meetups, but no New England ones. Maine? Vermont? Massachusetts? Am I the only one out east?
Just curious

I'm actually western Mass, but the darn state is so small - that's not very far.Originally Posted by Luvs2Be

I am from Mass..i am on the South Shore...whereabouts are you located?
I am sooooooooo there - especially if we're having Maine lobster! Sign me up! How far up into Maine are you?Originally Posted by gardenandcats
I'm in Maine. Maine is a lovely area to met up in the summertime!I"m right on the coast here and would love to have a met up. Lobsters at my house anyone?Hubby would even take anyone out for a few hours to haul some lobstertraps...And see the Maine coast..
Cool! That's close to me as well. What part of CT if you don't mind me asking? I'm just wondering because I live in Mass, but work in CT.Originally Posted by sweetiecat3

Bear with my stupidity please - by south shore you mean towards the cape? is that right?
Not a stupid question....I don't go as far down as the cape but yes you are right..i m 20 miles south of Boston.

That's a pretty good haul from where I am, but for Maine Lobster - I'd go anywhere.Originally Posted by gardenandcats
Mid coast Maine here Boothbay Harbor.
I've been to York a few times as well and it is a really nice place! That would be a good location as well.Originally Posted by Luvs2Be

Sure - NY and NJ I would consider in the New England area. The more the merrier! Don't know about the rest of you, but I would love for this to happen. I'd love to meet other "cat nuts" like me....Originally Posted by zak&rocky
Sign me up! I'm in eastern Ct, grew up in western ct, and lived for about 10 years in the worcester, MA area. Right now I'm in Coventry, Ct, which isn't too far at all from UCONN-Storrs.
I'm assuming that if this actually happens we could also invite those from NY, and NJ...
I haven't been to Maine in awhile. Love it!
that makes me chuckle...that you live in one state but work in the other.... it would be an 8 hour drive for me (one way) if I worked/lived in different statesOriginally Posted by lisasha3

I can't even imagine. In fact from where I live it's an hour 15 minutes to the "3 corners" - right where Mass/CT/RI all connect. And if I drive an hour in the opposite direction I can hit VT and NH.Originally Posted by huggles

You are right. I never thought of that, but you have a good point. Western and central CT seem to be sky high while western Mass isn't.Originally Posted by zak&rocky
It depends on where you live. When I was looking for a house the ones in some areas of Ct were much cheaper. Rents are cheaper my area than in Mass. Eastern CT is cheaper in general than western Ct. Glastonbury is super expensive however. In MA the opposite seems to be true, western is cheaper eastern is more expensive. Forget it if you live within the 495 belt, or even Worcester, the rents have been out of this world lately!!!
