Hi everyone.
Well, the deed is done. I've FINALLY been fired. As y'all know, I've been anxiously awaiting for a while (2 weeks is a LONG time to wait), so I'm happy that's over. The way they did it, however, was about as cruel as it gets. Long story short, they did it over the phone today and denied me the chance to have 2 of my allies, far up on my office's chain of command, on the call with me.
All I can do now is brush my shoulders off, get on the job search full-time, and pray that I'll be able to one day (hopefully soon) forgive the nasy people that have done me wrong through this whole ordeal.
Just wanted to thank all of you who have been praying and sending the good vibes. They're worked and your support has meant the world to me!

Now you will move on to something bigger and better. I just know it. Why management has to do it so inanely I don't know. I just figure Karma will get them in the end.

So
and we look forward to hearing about the next chapter in your life, Amy

I'm glad it's finally over. I don't know why some bosses are too cowardly to face the person they are firing, but they are (I had it done that way too, on a holiday no less!). Now you can move forward with your life. Like Jana, I'm sure that something bigger and better is right around the corner!

What an unprofessional way for them to handle things, not to mention cowardly. I'm sorry about how things worked out Amy, but I'm excited for you too, because there's so much for you to look forward to now and there will be so many opportunities for you to touch peoples' lives. I'll be praying that you're led in right direction!

I am so sorry, Amy...you deserve so much better! I suggest you write a letter to the top person in the company, explaining what happened. Sometimes, there are so many layers in a company, that the people in charge have no idea of what really goes on.

Best of luck to you in finding a new position. Two weeks from tomorrow is dh's last day on his job...he was fired, too. I understand a little of the feeling of freedom from a job you didn't really enjoy...combined with the worry over what you will find.

Be sure to take some time between jobs to resettle yourself, and organize your priorities. I'm sure you will find a job where you can be of help to those who need it.

I am so sorry you were treated so badly. You certainly didn't deserve it.
I hope you can find a better place to do the wonderful job that you do. It is so hard to imagine having the strength to help people in such crisis. It takes a truly loving heart and caring soul. Surely your talents will be appreciated somewhere else, with others in need.

Amy, that was so COWARDLY of them!! It hurts to be fired, no matter how unjustly the act is. I was fired once from a restaurant (2 days before, I had called the Health Inspector on them, and was required to give my name). The manager just let me show up in uniform & called me off the floor & into the office, right in front of guests & co-workers!
I could hardly see to walk home, I was crying so hard. But I did recall the mgr.'s comment, "If you think that we don't do things good enough, you should just go work at "W.C."!" and I did go to that other restaurant, and worked there for the next 12 years, and would still love to be there, but I hurt my neck in a car accident. May you find that special job, where co-workers are family and clients become friends, just like I did!

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
At least it's over now
my Dad was in a similar situation with his job a couple of years ago it was insanity but at the end of the day it was either, 'resign or we'll sack you' so he had no choice. It was so out of order. He's now happier than ever before and you will be too

How cowardly of them to end your job with a phone call rather than in person. Well at least you got a couple more weeks pay. I would apply for unemployment benefits too!! What about health insurance???
Well take a few days to settle down from this episode.
I know you had mentioned missing some of your clients. is there any way you can still keep in touch with them??
I know that there are wonderful opportunities out in the job world for you.
Look how many personal references you have here on TCS!!!!
Sendings good vibes to you{{{{{}}}}}}
