Hi all!

I am going to be switching my kittens to adult food soon, but staying with the same brand (Nutro). My question is, is it okay to change the type of dry food you give like every couple of days? There are tons of different flavors of adult food, and I'm wondering if it's okay to buy the same brand in different flavors to give them some variety. I just hope doing so won't give them GI problems!

Do most people use the same flavor or vary it up? Thanks in advance for the help!

If it is all the same brand then they use basically the same forumla, just the protein source changes.
It should not pose a problem.

Some cats don't like certain flavors (my cats can't handle the Halibut), but as far as making them sick, it should be fine. Make sure you change the food gradually, though-- from kitten to adult, not flavor to flavor.

Unless you get the "roasted chn" I would do a gradual switch cause you would be introducing a new protein

Sure, why not? I think it's silly to say that they should not have their food changed. After all, you eat different foods every day.

The only exception would be if the cat had a really sensitive tummy, but that's pretty unusual.

I think it really depends on your cat and whether they have a sensitive digestive system or not. I've changed Bijou and Mika from one brand to another abruptly with no problems at all but put that down to luck more than anything else.

I agree - it really depends on the cat. Jamie demands at least three different brands of cat food every week, and will only eat a certain brand for about three months, so I constantly rotate, and it doesn't bother his tummy in the least.
