I was walking my dog and stopped to talk to my elderly neighbour who loves animals. He was telling me that since he had taken in his daughters cat whilst she was away travelling, a huge black fluffy cat had started to come in every morning who would look him up and down, before eating ALL the cat food and leaving.

I did wonder how Jupiter had managed to put on 3lb despite being on a diet..

My father normally sits at the kitchen table in the morning while watching the news and having breakfast. He leans his cane against an unused chair, normally this is not a problem but Sibohan was on the chair and stretched which knocked over the cane which made a loud bang on the floor, then she ran to my father for protection. He laughed so loud it scared the cat again and she ran to me for protection... talk about a cat with a lapse of judgement.

When we had our siamese Sassy, she used to jump up on the back of the couch and onto the curtain rail. After a while, Lucy started doing it too, but she was (and still is) a lot heavier. Finally, when she jumped one time, the whole curtain/curtain rod fell to the floor, and it had a permanent bend in it. It even kept randomly falling off.

Yesterday morning I was almost out of dry food, so I mixed it with some wet food.

Apparently Luna couldn't wait long enough for me to finish the first bowl. She hopped up onto the counter and began to eat out of each one as I finished them.
Meanwhile, Whitey was clawing at the cupboard doors and Patches was behind me impatiently meowing.

Pearl is normally a very shy kitty, not very affectionate, but when she has a bout of wanting to be loving, she goes all out.
I was on my hands and knees trying to catch dust bunnies under my bed, and got a terrible cramp, right in the cheek. I could not go up or down, and since I was so close to the bed, had only one way I could fall over, the wrong way. About then, Pearl runs out from under the bed and starts licking my face, grabbing my head with her paws and hugging me, rolled over on her back, and started kneading my belly, purring, rolling around, just happy as could be. Then I had nowhere to go, or I would have fallen over on her. I finally managed to get my leg stretched out behind me to get rid of the cramp and was able to get up. I was so glad nobody else was here! I will be using the looong handled Swiffer to retrieve dust bunnies from now on.

So many competition stories - wouldn't know where to begin. Mine are always competing for attention. I start with 4 on the bed and slowly the fights begin and one by one they clear out, only to start again a little while later.
My funniest though is my baby. She is a beautiful little girl and she "thinks" she is the alpha cat (little does she know)...but she tries so hard. One minor problem - she is by far the clumsiest damn cat I have ever had. She tries to be so tough, but is so clumsy you can't help but laugh. If I had not had her to the vets (with a clean bill of health) I would have thought something was wrong. She is just so uncoordinated. Like this morning she did one of her famous "fly-bys" (jumping onto the bed, and onto me), but then....falling off the other side. (She couldn't stop). So as I"m hysterically laughing, she jumps on the little table next to the bed to look out the window and... falls off
Just basically loses balance and falls off.
After that I lost it. Cat's are suppose to be coordinated and kinda graceful aren't they? She is so clumsy! I have had cats for over 30 years and never had one so - uncoordinated (and no - there's nothing wrong with her - she's completely healthy).

Around dinnertime not long ago, my cat Crystal began climbing our screen door. When my mom tried to open the door, he wouldn't let go. That resulted in Crystal clinging on to the top of the screen and swinging from side to side when my momopened and closed the door for about 5 to 10 minutes. Another time, my cat Laura wanted to go outside, so my mom opened our glass door. Laura ran straight for the door, but didn't know that my mom hadn't opened the screen door yet, so went crashing into the screen door instead of outside.

Today we caught the dog on the arm of the sofa, trying to judge if he could make the jump to the window sill like the cats had managed just seconds before.

Phenom runs through the house like a wild indian. Well one day she came running around the staircase and into the living room where I was watching tv. She jumped to get on the table but didn't jump quite high enough and jumped into the side of the table. When she got up she look at me as if to say "Mom why did you move the table?" I was laughing so hard I had tears coming from my eyes.
