Man, sometimes I hate my job...I don't know why people have to call me to yell at me that their insurance rates are high because they had TWO claims!!

Don't people get it? If you have claims, it means your a higher risk than people without claims...hence your rates will be higher.

Yes I know its frustrating that you pay insurance all your life, and then if you have a claim, your rates are likely affected..BUT insurance companies are a business too..and they have a right to classify and charge higher rates to riskier people.

Everyone complains..but if they actually had a big claim and their $300000 house burned down, I'm sure they would be thankful for insurance then because there is no way anyone would pay $300000 in home insurance for their whole lives..but yet we replace your home with no questions asked!!

I'm sorry..I'm having a rough week.

I hate it when people dont realise that you just work there, you are not the company manager, you do not invent the rules!

When I worked in retail people would get angry with me if the clothes didnt fit them.

I dont think they realised I just worked on the changing rooms part time to fund my way through uni. I didnt sit upstairs and sew the clothes myself!

I also got asked how much each item would cost in different branches or if they were stocked there. Customers couldnt understand why i would have to phone the stores to check and didnt know off the top of my head! I have never been to Glasgow, how would I know if they have it in pink?!

Totally understand!

Our internet has been down twice this month and the marketing guy thinks that if we switch companies it'll be better...noooo...it's still going through the same line. If the wires and equipment are old then we're going to have problems.

Hope your week gets better though!

I know the feeling. I have to tell people that we can't bend the rules for them because if a commander or God forbid the General comes buy and they don't have the poper stuff the *WE* get in big trouble and I am not goign to risk it for them.

Thanks guys...I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets idiot clients..well I wish you guys didn't have to deal with them but since you do, its fun to vent.

Oh another idiot thing people say when I'm giving them a quote:

"Can you give me the lowest price"?

Um, the computer automatically gives me the lowest price..it's not MY decision what price you get..Why do people think I have any control over anything. I don't even get discounts and I WORK here. Like I'm going to say "oh okay, since you asked, I do have a lower price in here somewhere".

Uh no.

I really think that everyone needs some sort of tour of each industry to get the idea of what happens everywhere. I.e. work in a hotel, work in retail, etc, just so that you have a basis of what that rep is going through to help you!

One of my clients is upset because I keep raising his rates at each renewal. Hello, I have zero control over the rates. It's called inflation.

Credit scoring for auto insurance was not my idea. I fought hard against it a few years back but the giant corporations, such as UN-Fair Isaac, won.

Again I'm thankful I'm out of corporate America!!!
But being the boss and with the higher gas prices I am contemplating I fuel surcharge effective May 1st. Its less money in my pocket and that's not helping my bottom line.

I'm a customer service rep for an entertainment company, and it's H.E. double hockey sticks.

People don't seem to understand that I don't personally sit around inventing rules to make their lives harder, I just have to follow them so I don't lose my job, which I unfortunately need right now.

And really, if you don't pay your bill for two months, don't be surprised when we cut off your service. And then you scream at me when I won't reinstate it until you make a payment. I mean, seriously.

That is a great idea!! It really would help with people's perceptions!!

What amazes me is the parents of young adults who get into trouble legally! They don't understand that I can't disclose anything confidential without permission from the client, except for what is public records, and is available from the court clerks. I just try to act understanding, but it does irk me to see the excuses that folks make for their troublemakers, such as, "the cops just single him out (which is why their baby-boy is caught driving with no tags, on a suspended license with drugs in the car)" or "his g-friend is such a b****h, he has to hit her, to get her out of his face (gee, I'd've thought when she staggered outside, bleeding & crying, that she was already out of his face)...uh,oh...guess I'm really venting
