Louie went to the vet today and it is not ringworm, which is good news. The vet said that it was a granulation of the skin and that it was probably due to stress because last weekend he was at the vet and given a series of enemas for the mass in his stomach that they thought to be impacted feces.

I think there is something seriously wrong with Louie. Ever since Friday after coming back from the vet, he's been just lying around. He won't even get up to eat, but he'll eat a few pieces of dry food if you put it by where he is laying. He has absolutely no energy and it seems like he is just wasting away. He is so thin now, you can feel his little bones. It breaks my heart.
Could the mass in his stomach have anything to do with this? The vet gave us the option of exploratory surgery to see what the mass is, but he said to wait a little bit to see if he gets better. Since the bald spot on his shoulders was a granulation of the skin, he's not worried to much about that. But poor Louie looks horrible and I think we're going to have to let the vet know that he can do surgery on Louie, to find out what this mass is. Has anyone else had an experience like this or has had their kitty have a mass in his stomach before? We are super low on money, to where right now we're struggling to get ourselves (me, my mom) fed, but the kitties are getting fed, just less (and they were very, very spoiled with food before, so it's not like they're all unhealthy.) But I guess we will have to get surgery on Louie, he is my main priority, hopefully my mom will feel the same.

And by the way, on a positive note -- Yesterday was Louie's and Daisy's birthday (they're brother and sister) They are both officially 1 year old!

One of my cats started to act like that, one day we just noticed that he was just laying there, not being is usual active self, and he was very lethargic and had suddenly gotten skiny.
It turns out he had eaten some silica molding from our aquarium that was covered in fish food (he loves fish food). The vets took him in for emergency surgery and removed the molding along with a section of his small intestine. If we hadn't done that, he would have died because it wasn't something he could pass.
But our vets could tell from his xray that the blockage was something that needed to be removed.
It sounds to me like your guy needs the surgery or at least needs to be seen again. I would at least call your vet and tell them how much weight he's lost and about his depression and lethargy.
Is the blockage in his stomach or in the small or large intestines? It wouldn't make sense for feces to be in his stomach.
I hope he gets better!

Here's an update on Louie:

He's actually walking around the house alot, which means he's got more energy than he had. I suppose he was laying around like he was depressed because the vet visit stressed him, he gets stressed out easily. Louie also has his appetite, he's a little piggy. The bald spot on his shoulders seems like it may be getting bigger, and I'm unsure why. Possibly more stress?
I'm not sure if Louie has gained any more weight, but I feel that he may have, which is good. He's just got alot more energy than he did. He's still not too interested in playing, like he used to be. We are eventually going to go in a see what this mass is. I think the vet said it was in the large intestines, not the stomach. We are saving up some money for Louie so we'll be able to pay for it. But the staff at our vet know us really well and are really understanding.

Very bad news, guys.

Louie has passed away. Me and my mom came home an hour ago and found him already gone. He had started getting better and having more energy.. but the last two days he went down hill and lost alot of energy and layed around pretty much 24/7.. I don't even think I saw him get up and go to the litter box. We were going to take him in saturday to get surgery to see what the mass was, but it's too late now. I think I readied myself more than I thought. Louie just wasn't himself since he's gotten sick.
I don't remember the term used, but we called the vet and tomorrow morning they're going to do a "autopsy" type thing to see what the exact thing that caused Louie to die. We had to put our poor baby in the refrigerator.. It was so hard because he was already a little stiff. I've been crying so much since we found him. I just wished I would've been there to at least comfort him while he passed.
RIP Louie. My little Woo-wee, as I called him.

I am truly sorry for your loss. It is always a difficult thing to deal with as pet owners. Always treasure the memories you shared with Louie and may his pawprints forever hold a special place in your heart. Take care and I will be thinking of you.

Thanks to everyone for your support and concern. We found out that the mass was a cancerous tumor hooked on to his intestines, which eventually took his life. They could've sent off the tumor to determine what kind of cancer it was but it wouldn't tell us much more, so we decided not to do it.
We burried Louie in the backyard next to his brother, Julian and a feral kitten (Domino) that got hit by a car about a year ago. We burried him with some treats (Louie's favorite thing in the world) and the old cat dancer (we just got a new one). I am so sad that he is gone, but I can just feel him around sometimes, you know? Hopefully now he is playing with Julian and Domino and my dad now in heaven. Just the thought helps me feel a little better.

Oh no, I just read that you lost poor Louie. I am so sorry, you must be heartbroken. I guess at least he is no longer in pain, but it so sad that he's gone.

RIP little buddy, you will be missed.
