CHicago has about 2.8 million living within the city limits, anohter 3.5 million or so in the burbs, where I grew up.

When my parents moved there when I was a year and a half old, there were 40,000 people living there. Now, 19 year later, there are almost 150,000 people living there, making it the 3rd largest city in IL!

lol My brother moved from the boonies here in Minnesota to Chicago. He had a hard time explaining that the map he was showing people wasn't a block, it was a square mile!

My town; population 1,082(82 of those people being under the age of 200 years old
). My town is comprised of mostly old farmers & old farmers wives. I actually live outside of town, but what the hey! Mack, I always thought there were more people in your hometown than that! Isn't your town bigger than mine?

According to Wikipedia, in 2000 there were 59,954 people here, but I remember it being in the news a couple years ago that we hit 100,000. There are a lot of people on TCS from small towns! I live in the Sacramento Valley (which is pretty big - nobody will guess where I live
) is like a state in itself - when I say I'm from California, wrong assumptions are made!! We have two seasons here - Hot and rainy. And no, I've never been to LA or Hollywood.

I live in Cutler Bay, FL, a newly incorporated town in the SW suburbs of Miami. The population is just under 25,000, but there is a lot of building going on, so the population should top out at just under 35,000. Miami-Dade County has a population of 2.2 million peeps.

Aurora or Naperville? I grew up in Wheaton, and there was something like 10,000 people living there when I was born. I think it's around 60,000 now, but Naperville is growing like crazy! The year I graduated from HS (1980), Wheaton was still larger. Now, I think Naperville is something like triple the size.

I don't live in a city or village, I live in a township. I think the population of this township, which is 25 square miles, is approx 4,500.
