Hi...I had written this last week, if you want to read that and then this....

http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83778

OK....her behind is still filthy. I have been watching her clean and she is not reaching her anus. I don't know why after 2 years this is an issue? I try to clean her with a little wet wipey thing and she howls.

My house is getting disgusting from her backside and I don't know what to do anymore....I feel like I am following her everywhere trying to clean up...this is not fun.

She has been on the diarrhea med since Sat....do you think once that clears up, her bottom will get better?

She is not having diarrhea all over the house, she still goes in her box, but it's loose, not formed and she is still scooting.

But how can the Vet help her clean herself?

I am wondering if the meds take a while to work. Maybe I will give the Vet a call.

I understand the fact she has diarrhea but it sounds really bad and I think a vet should be told because cats can dehydrate.

The Vet knows about the loose stool/Diarrhea and has her on medication for it.

You definitely should call your vet and ask him the same questions you are asking us, i.e., will she stop scooting when the medication kicks in? How long will it take for it to be effective? Does she need to be seen again?

Hopefully they can answer these questions for you.

since your baby has longish hair it might be a good idea to start trimming her hair on her butt area to a managable length until her issues are under control.

She was shaved about a month ago, so there is no issue with that...and her anal glands are empty.
