well we moved this past Sunday. Kitties have been in the new place since Saturday( I spent all day here with them to get them aquainted)

We moved from a flat apartment to a town home. They , of course have been exploring everything, sniffing rubbing, and all of that. But I notice that they are so vocal! They started to gt a lil vocal at the old place but here, its like they are constantly talking. Not to mention, they are being so affectionate, especially ashes. Ashes would only come to me now and a blue moon to cuddle and purr. Now she's constantly meowing for me and comming to cuddle on my lap.

They love climbing the stairs and we now have two "cat walks" which is the walls that are cut off because the bedroom overviews the living room. Im not sure if the are anxious or what, its getting to me cuz although its nice, its not their normal behaviour. But then again Ive been ALOT More affectionate with them the past month. NOt that I wasnt, but Iw as juggling 3 jobs and bearly had the time. Now I only have one job which leaves me alot of time for them. Could that be it? I know I shouldnt be, but I am a little worried, what do you think?

How safe are the 'catwalks'? I'm not sure what you mean - can they be at the top of a wall (with the possibility of another cat pushing them off even in play fighting)?

As far as the increase of vocals, it could be that they like how their voices sound in certain parts of the house. I used to have a female that just LOVED how her voice sounded in the kitchen.

As far as their extra cuddliness, it could be them thanking you!

I'm not sure what's behind the licking of the wall, but maybe try spraying/cleaning it with an enzyme-based cleaner? There might be the scent of another animal (from prev. owners) there on the wall.

This might be off the subject, but my cat Phoenix (11 mo. DSH, Yellow/White TS) Is very vocal. He meows when he's hungry. He meows when he needs his belly rubbed. And sometimes he meows where we can't see him and won't stop till we find him (hide and seek?). We have another cat Chocolate (1yr 3 mo. DSH, Black/Brown TS) who barely talks at all. She meows every now and then.

Julius is pretty talkative too, which we didn't expect when we adopted him. He would meow just before meal times, when he curious about something you're doing, when he sees you home...though that last one that might be a function of the meal times thing, since he would then walk straight over to the cabinet where his food is stored!
