Last night I brought in a teen kitty I have been feeding for a couple of months. I set her up in a room with food, water, litterbox, bed and toys. I had no idea I needed to cover the vent. Somehow the kitty removed the cover and went down into the duct work during the night. What should I do now?

I would try and leave some food out it the room something that smells alot like tuna and maybe she can get out herself if not then you might need to take action.

I live in the No. Va area near DC.
Was it a drop down a shaft? Or is it horizontal, so you can tempt her
back out? You may need to call the HVAC person to help you take the vent
covers off... (I would take the cover off all together, place smelly tuna, mackrel and/or Popey's Chicken (the BEST) in front of the vent hole,
and allow her to come out on her own - if she's not "down" a shaft, she'll
be fine. Oh, and turn off the HVAC system!! (So the air doesn't blow and scare her...)

I would call the serviceman and ask them to come and get her out.
